REVIVE© recycled acetate – the use of recycled materials is the future.
Our responsibility is to continuously strive to reduce the impact on the environment, for example through recycling.
Our goal for the future is to keep waste to a minimum.
The use of recycled materials is introduced by Eastman’s innovative Carbon Renewal Technology. This technology is a chemical recycling process, which consists of breaking down plastic waste into basic building blocks to create new materials.
By replacing traditional fossil sources with hard-to-recycle plastics, such as textiles from clothing and the remains of glasses, molecular recycling ensures that plastic waste does not end up in landfills and incinerators. Or even if waste ends up in the ocean.
The result is a cellulose acetate composed of 60% biomaterial and 40% recycled material. This creates a 100% sustainable acetate flake, which serves as raw material for the Revive© acetate.
These 100% sustainable Revive© acetate flakes can be used in the regular acetate production process. It has the same look and feel as the traditional acetate and the performance and stability of both materials are the same.
Our Revive© recycled acetate collection is recognizable by the green engraved “Revive Leaf” icon in the temple.
